5G PPP |
The 5G Infrastructure Public Private Partnership – Initiative supported by the EU Commission and industry manufacturers, telecommunications operators, service providers, SMEs and researchers for delivering solutions, architectures, technologies and standards for the ubiquitous next generation communication infrastructures of the coming decade. |
Communication |
Targeted information to multiple audiences (including the media and the public) aimed at non specialists, including stakeholders whose interest is in potential application of the results. |
Data Management Plan |
Formal document that outlines how data will be handled (stored, shared and published) both during research activity, and after the project completion. |
Dissemination |
Public disclosure of the results by any appropriate means (other than resulting from protecting or exploiting the results), including by scientific publications in any medium, aimed at peers, usually other researchers working in the area of the project. |
Exploitation |
Direct or indirect utilisation of foreground in further research activities other than those covered by the project, or for developing, creating and marketing a product or process, or for creating and providing a service, or for using them in standardisation activities. (Article 28.1 of GA). |
General Public |
Audience composed by people, groups and organizations which do not have specific competences/knowledge in the matter of the project but only a general interest at the application of results in society at a large. |
Hackathon |
Event in which computer programmers and others involved in software development and hardware development, including graphic designers, interface designers and project managers, collaborate intensively on software projects in competition with other teams. |
Innovation |
The act or process of introducing new ideas, technologies, or methods. |
Neutron |
Neutron is an OpenStack project to provide “networking as a service” between interface devices (e.g., vNICs) managed by other OpenStack services (e.g., Nova). |
Open Source Mano (OSM) |
ETSI-hosted project to develop an Open Source NFV Management and Orchestration software stack aligned with ETSI NFV. |
OpenDayLight (ODL) |
An open source platform for programmable, software-defined networks. |
OpenStack |
Free and open-source software platform for cloud computing, mostly deployed as an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS). The software platform consists of interrelated components that control hardware pools of processing, storage, and networking resources throughout a datacentre. |
Proof of Concept (PoC) |
Demonstration, the purpose of which is to verify that certain concepts or theories have the potential for real-world application. POC is therefore a prototype that is designed to determine feasibility. |
Results |
Any tangible or intangible output of the Action, such as data, knowledge and information whatever their form or nature, whether or not they can be protected, which are generated in the Action as well as any rights attached to them, including Intellectual Property Rights. |
Standardization |
Process of developing and implementing technical standards. |
